People like Dingell are out of touch, and deciding our future
This post was published 7 months 3 days ago which may make its actuality or expire date not be valid anymore. This site is not responsible for any misunderstanding.Rep. John Dingell has served in the U.S. House since 1955, making him the third-longest serving House member in the history of the body and the longest serving member in the current House. Dingell, who actually took over his father’s seat nearly fifty-five years ago has advocated government-run health care all his life, because that is what career politicians like Dingell do - they want more and more government control, because they know nothing different.
However, Dingell has completely lost it. At 83 years old, Dingell is out-of-touch and devoid of knowing what ‘everyday’ America is all about and what we worry about as citizens this country.
Consider the story of Mike Sola, who attended a Dingell town-hall event on Thursday. Mr. Sola’s son has cerabal palsy, which would not be covered under one of the House healthcare measures currently being discussed. Rather than answering Sola’s question, Dingell ignored calls from the town-hall crowd for him to answer and rather, the old man moved to his prepared comments, which centered on his guarantee that abortions wouldn’t be covered under any legislation.
Dingell, like so many of his Democratic friends misses the point: there is real concern out there and very often the concern has absolutely nothing to do with right versus left or Republican versus Democrat. It boils down to two questions: ‘Will I be covered, and what will the cost be?”
But Dingell and others has framed the debate as ‘We know what is best” versus “These people know nothing.”
Mr. Sola, however, only cares about his son’s well-being.
