Will health coverage be compulsory – Interesting what a few bad Obama polls mean.  Here NBC asks a rhetorical question, but upon reading the article you realize that while the headline sounds almost negative (in terms of its reaction to ObamaCare), the article is full of left-wing lies.  Among the quotes:

For the vast majority of Americans who have health insurance, the change would mean little more than submitting a form with their tax returns proving that the plan they carry meets certain minimum standards. Many of the nation’s 47 million uninsured people, however, would be required to purchase a health policy or face financial penalties, though waivers or discounts would be provided for lower-income Americans.

Yet in a nation that prides itself on having freedom of choice, it is striking that such a wide and diverse coalition has formed around the individual mandate. Labor unions, economists, the medical industry, big business, some prominent Republicans and Obama all support the requirement, which has its roots in the conservative philosophy of self-reliance.

If you believe this article, those already with a health plan will see no change.  Of course, we know that this is wrong (i.e. is a lie).  Also, the “wide and diverse coalition” is nothing more than left-wing interest groups and a few RINOs to boot.

President Obama Talks to Katie Couric – The article is nothing more than a transcript of the actual interview, but when one sees Obama and Couric in the same sentence, one knows that this was a feast of snow-ball questions.  Obama’s biggest lies is one that is always repeated:

President Obama: Well, here’s what I think. Nobody wants to pay more taxes. I don’t want to pay more taxes. You don’t want to pay more taxes. On the other hand, I think we all recognize that, in a country like ours, we shouldn’t have 46 million people without health insurance, and we shouldn’t have a whole lot of other people who have health insurance, but the deductibles are so high, or the premiums are so high, that they can barely afford it. And so if we’ve rung out all the waste and inefficiency in the system, if we’ve reallocated, as I’ve proposed, that money that is being wasted that is already in the system, taxpayers are already paying for this. For example, on these subsidies to insurance companies.

The “46 million people” includes illegals, which Obama now says will not be covered, which appears to be another lie since Obama himself states that children of illegals will be covered.

More of the same.

New York Times

In Health Care, Defining Moment Nears for President – The headline itself is bias, since I’m pretty sure that the New York Times would never use a positive word like “defining” to describe any GOP policy.    Of course look where they picked up the word, “defining”:

“I think this will be a major factor in defining his presidency,” said Tom Daschle, the former Senate Democratic leader, who remains a close adviser to the White House on health issues. “Because he’s made it such an issue, and because he has invested so much personal time and effort, this will, more than stimulus and more than anything he has done so far, be a measure of his clout and of his success early on. And because it is early on, it will define his subsequent years.”

Hasn’t Daschle’s ride-around-in-a-limo that cost him an actual job in Obama’s administration discounted his opinions?  Not to the Times.
