In order for this country to return to the fundamentals that made this country great, we need to once again advocate, support and ultimately vote into office clear conservatives that believe in lower taxes, less federal oversight and the like.  With this in mind, we offer our first (of many) endorsements for the 2009-2012 election cycle:

Pat Toomey, Republican candidate for Senate, Pennsylvania (2010)

This endorsement is a no-brainer.  The former House representative and founder of Club for Growth got very close to beating the Senate’s top RINO Arlen Specter in 2004.  Originally expected to seek the Keystone State’s open governor’s seat, Toomey decided to take on Specter in a rematch because of Specter’s support of President Obama’s stimulus package.  Visit Toomey’s official site today and give, give, give.

Chris Christie, Republican candidate for Governor, New Jersey (2009)

One year after voters gave Bill Clinton the White House and majorities in both houses of Congress, three bye-elections in 1993 showed that the GOP wasn’t dead.  Victories for governor in New Jersey and Virginia plus the Mayor’s seat in New York City propeled the Republicans into 1994 when they took majorities in both the House and Senate.   Therefore, the race in New Jersey this year is very, very important.  Christie, a former United States Attorney appointed by former President George W. Bush is the likely favorite to take on Democratic incumbent Gov. Jon Corzine.  Corzine, like his 1993 equivilent, former Gov Jim Florio (D) is unpopular even in tax-raising New Jersey and despite a (still) popular Democrat in the White House is at this point considered an underdog.  Let’s send Corzine home and elect Christie New Jersey’s next governor.  Official Chris Christie site.
